The Mobile Computer Lab is a portable, wireless, computer lab containing 16 laptop computers and a laser printer. Teachers reserve the lab for instructional use in their classrooms. When using the mobile lab, students have wireless access to the Internet to conduct research, visit educational websites, take online quizzes, and much more!

There are two separate computer labs at SRCS.
Kindergarten through 4th grade students attend computer classes in the Elementary Computer Lab. Fifth through eighth grade computer classes are conducted in the Middle School Computer Lab.
Students in grades K-4 attend computer class once a week for 1/2 hour in a split class — no more than fifteen students at a time. Fifth grade students attend computer class as a whole group, once a week, for 45 minutes . Middle School students (grades 6-8) students attend computer class during one class period, every day, for an entire marking period.
Elementary and Middle School computer classes are designed to teach age-appropriate computer skills and tools needed for academic success in the future. In addition to specific skills such as keyboarding, word processing, searching the Internet, creating presentations, and creating web pages, students at all age levels are taught to use technology in ways that are pleasing to God. Ethical and appropriate use of technology is incorporated into the computer class curriculum.
Both computer labs are well equipped - 16 computers in the Elementary Lab and 30 computers in the Middle School Lab. All lab computers are running Microsoft Windows and have the complete Microsoft Office Suite installed. They are also all networked and have access to other SRCS resources and the Internet. Internet access is filtered to screen out inappropriate materials. In addition, each lab contains facilities to project and demonstrate a computer screen, networked laser printers, and scanners.
We are so grateful to the PTF for funding such terrific computer facilities for the students. God has truly been working here at SRCS.
There are two mobile ActivBoard interactive whiteboard systems available to classroom teachers. Each ActivBoard system comes complete with an ActivBoard, laptop computer, and a projector. The ActivBoards allow teachers to project documents, presentations, web sites, and other information. The teacher or students can interact with the projected information, highlighting, drawing, or selecting things with a special E-Pen. Additionally, one of the ActivBoards has 30 ActivVote devices to allow an entire class of students to provide responses to questions with immediate feedback on answers for the teacher.
In addition to the Mobile Computer Lab, ActivBoards, and specialized computer instruction in the Elementary and Middle School Computer Labs, teachers and students have access to computers in the classroom. There is at least one computer with a printer in each classroom. The teachers determine the time and use of the classroom computers throughout the school day, as needed.
