Gymnasium renovations underway...

Phase 1 of our renovations is complete! This summer, our maintenance staff, along with many work crews, worked to complete the first phase of our gymnasium renovations. New L.E.D. lights were installed, the old air conditioner handlers were removed and replaced with smaller, quieter, more efficient handlers, walls received a fresh coat of paint and new wall pads were installed. A new SRCS sports logo will be added to the walls soon and the kitchen received state of the art, professional equipment.

Proceeds from our fundraising efforts this year will help complete Phase 2 of our gym renovations with the installation of a new gym floor!

2nd Generation Panthers

SRCS Alumni Chris Bivona, Dustin Grizzle, and Priscilla Pero Bergstrom (Class of 1999), along with Colleen Sulewski Sloan and Michele Tamaccio Schenden (Class of 2002), and  Dominica Cirisano (Class of 2003) are proud to have their children attending SRCS during the 2016-17 school year.  Colleen said, “I had the privilege of attending SRCS from pre-K through 8th grade. Not only did SRCS make a positive impact on me academically, but it also nurtured and strengthened my Christian walk. Now that I am a mother, when it came time to decide on what school to send my child to, I had no hesitation in choosing SRCS. At SRCS, I am confident in knowing that my daughter will be surrounded by caring men and women of faith who will challenge her academically and most importantly, remind her that Jesus loves her.” (Read complete story.)

SRCS Students Qualify for Duke Talent Identification Program

We are delighted to report that over 58% of our current Seventh Grade students have qualified to participate in the Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP). These students now have the opportunity to take the ACT or SAT College Entrance Exams this school year. The results will be available toward the end of April, and we are looking forward to seeing how well this class does. SRCS has had State and/or Grand Recognition honorees every year since 1999, our first year with Duke TIP.

SRCS is also excited to announce that 37% of our current Fourth Grade students and 43% of our current Fifth Grade students qualified for the Duke University TIP program for fourth and fifth grade students by scoring a 95% or higher on their SAT 10 assessment last spring. Participants receive recognition and a variety of benefits to nurture their academic talent including online advanced writing, math, science, and social studies lessons, special newsletters, a writing contest that awards monetary prizes, and other opportunities for publication.

Being selected for the Duke TIP program is recognized throughout the nation as a remarkable achievement. We are proud of the accomplishments that these student leaders have demonstrated, as it is a reflection of their hard work and determination, the support they have received from their parents, and the quality of the education they have received here at SRCS.  Congratulations, students!
