Kindergarten Observations

Parents with children going to kindergarten next year are invited to observe a kindergarten class on one of the following dates:  Tuesday, November 14 or Thursday, November 16 at 8:45am.  Afterward, our administration will answer your questions from 9:30 - 10:00.  Call the school office (994-5006) to sign up. This is a "Parents Only" opportunity to observe a lesson (no babies or other children, please).

Kendra Cashion, 2014 Alumni, named All Area Co-Player of the Year 2017

Junior Forward, Kendra Cashion, piled up 33 goals and led her Boca Raton High School team in assists, with 23.  The Boca High Girls Soccer team finished second in the state this year.  See the Palm Beach Post article for photos and the complete story.

Grace Alfieri (2016), a Freshman at Boca Raton High School, received Honorable Mention for Basketball.

 

2016 Alumni plays on State Girls Basketball Championship Team for 2017

Freshman guard, Grace Alfieri, scored 13 points and hit all three of her 3-point attempts in Boca Raton's 58-45 win over Orlando-Olympia in the Class 9A state semifinals at the Lakeland Center in February 2017.  See the complete Palm Beach Post article.  Then, on Saturday, February 25, 2017, the Boca Raton High School won the State title on buzzer-beater in the last few seconds.  See the complete Miami Herald article.

Victoria Stewart (2014), a Junior at Boca Raton High School, received Honorable Mention for Cross Country.

 Christopher French (2014), a Junior at Spanish River High School, earned First Team for Cross Country.

 

2011 Alumni Selected as OAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week

Sophomore Matt Danko was selected as the Ohio Athletic Conference Football Special Teams Player of the Week following his efforts in the Blue Streaks' 17-10 win over Baldwin Wallace in the annual Cuyahoga Gold Bowl Saturday, September 24, 2016.   Danko made both point after tries, kicked a 22-yard field goal to put John Carroll on the scoreboard in the third quarter, and had four punts which averaged 43.0 yards.  He also had four kick off attempts of which three were touchbacks, and none of his punts were returned.  Complete details are available by clicking the Player of the Week link.

Alumni Robotics Team Headed to Worlds!

Seven SRCS graduates are heading to St. Louis on April 27, 2016 to compete in the World Robotics Tournament.  Congratulations to Josh Adejunmobi, Myles Byrne, Benjamin Bruen, Brandon Nolan, Andrew Ferguson, Christina Pucci and Kadee Olarte, for their participation in the Dirty Mechanics Robotics team earning a bid to World!  We wish them good providence at the competition!

Lucas Metropulos (2007) Receives Griffith Service Award for Contributions to Global Community

 While few students launch nonprofits, Lucas Metropulos has done it twice.  Lend a Hand Bahamas, his second nonprofit, earned him the William J. Griffith University Service Award in April 2015 for outstanding contributions to the global community.  The nonprofit seeks to provide opportunities for disadvantaged children in the Bahamas.  Recently, Lucas was highlighted on Channel 5 news for his Service to others.

Kendra Cashion (2014), a Sophomore at  Boca Raton High School, earned Class 5A-4A First Team for Soccer.

Olivia Polimeni (2014), a Sophomore at St. Paul II, received Honorable Mention for Soccer.

Former Alum win NJROTC 2015 State Championship

Boca Raton High School's Bobcat Battalion won the Navy Junior ROTC (NJROTC) Florida State Championship for 2015.  Congratulations to the following SRCS alum (class of 2014) who are members of the winning Regiment:  Nicholas Carros, Emily Christopoul, Kelly Jackson, Annabel and Madison Lilly, Cameron Nagao, Olivia Stango, and Victoria Stewart.  In addition, SRCS is extremely grateful to those NJROTC members (also former SRCS alum) who return each year to present the colors at various school events.  A photo of the color guard presenting the colors from the Robotics Tournament at SRCS, January 2015, is featured to the right.

 

2011 SRCS Alum Signs Letter of Intent

Brianna McCaffrey (2011) - signed a collegiate letter of intent in December of 2014.  Brianna signed to play women's lacrosse at Liberty University. 

Alumni Basketball Game December 2014

The Alumni Basketball Game was held on December 17, 2014.  The 8th graders and coaches were pitted against the Alumni.  The game started out great for the coaches as they hit some big shots to build an early lead.  Billy Swann dropped a corner three and Tyler Manlio was too fast for the alumni early on.  However the momentum of the game quickly turned when Stevie Swan threw up a long distance three which gave the Alumni the spark they needed.  The alumni were able to come back from a 25-point deficit and pull out the win.  Coach O. and Coach P. are back in training to get ready for next year.  Thank you to all the administration, staff, and alumni who came out to support this fun event!

James Nugent (2011), a Senior at American Heritage, was honored as a Commended Scholar in September 2014.

 

SRCS Graduates Chosen for National Signing Day, February 5, 2014

Kyndal Burdin (2010) - signed with Hamilton College in Clinton, New York to play Volleyball. She will be a setter for the team.  Kyndal had over 1,000 assists during her two years as the starting setter at Park Vista High School.  She earned First Team All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-County for the 2013 season.  She is also the Park Vista Pathfinder Nominee for Vocal Music this year.
 

Casey Farmer (2010) - signed with LeHigh University in Pennsylvania to play Golf. 

Collin Gray (2010) - signed with Wheaton College in Illinois to play Baseball.

Harrison Rodormer (2010) - signed with Jacksonville University in Florida to play Football.  He has been playing tackle football sine he was 9 years old and was in the Boca Jets football program until the age of 14.  Harrison made the Varsity team at Boca High as a freshman and is currently the only senior on the team to play all four years on Varsity.

Jaye Marie Green, wins Q-school and qualifies for the LPGA

Jaye Marie Green (class of 2008) completed an incredible victory in the LPGA Tour Qualifying tournament (known as Q-School) on Sunday, December 8, 2013, finishing with a record 29-under 331 total for a 10-stroke margin.  The exciting story, along with photos and interview comments can be found by accessing the online links for Golfweek and ESPN news.  Now that Jaye has qualified for the LPGA, she is looking forward to visiting the Bahamas, Australia, and Hawaii. 

  

SRCS Alum, Emily Hancock,  goes on engineering mission trip to Chad

Emily Hancock (2003) recently returned from a September, 2013 mission trip to Chad, Africa.  She was part of an engineering team, working with TEAM Missions, to design a support center for missionaries.  The project was successful and finalized construction drawings should be completed by the end of the year.  Emily had an amazing, life changing experience.  She summarized her trip in a thank you letter to those who supported her with prayer and finances.  Click Emily's letter to read about her trip.

 

SRCS Alum, Rebecca Markert, Wins Miss Florida Teen Pageant!

Rebecca Markert (2011) was named Queen of the 2013 Miss Florida Junior Teen competition.  The event was held in July, 2013 in Miami, Florida, and brought together hundreds of girls from around the state.  With her win, Rebecca receives a complimentary trip to the National American Miss competition to be held in Hollywood, California this November.  Rebecca will focus on the Little Smiles charity as her Miss Florida Junior Teen campaign platform.  Little Smiles is a non-profit volunteer organization based in Florida that provides toys, movies, computers, event tickets, and much more to children in local hospitals, hospices and shelters throughout Florida.  Learn more at www.LittleSmiles.org.
